CFD Trading – Contracts for Difference
Trade CFDs with one of the top-level CFDs brokers below - use the comparison table to assess aspects like trade minimum, initial margin, interest rates and more. CFD is short for “Contract for Difference”. This is a trade type that allows you to open a contract with the broker.
The CFD contract pays out the difference between an underlying share price now and when the contract closes. CFDs are high-paced investment tools which allow traders to speculate on the price direction of an underlying share without actually having to purchase the share itself. In other words, the investor can trade shares without actually owning them.
CFDs are made on margin. So, when you buy a CFD you will pay around 10 per cent of the share you are trading (the margin rate varies according to broker). The remaining 90 per cent will be lent by the broker. If you make a successful speculation you will win the profits on the position. If the market goes against you, your profit will be lost plus any losses on the entire contract.
